Event: Victor Bodden Tour
Meet: Library (at least for now) - Tuesday, Jan 26: 10:15 a.m. - Port Day
Organized by: Ramona Williams (Papernator)
About the event: This is a "Best of Roatan" Tour offered by Victor Bodden. They have air conditioned vehicles, and we will be taking a bus and a van.
Base Price: $20.00 each, payable at end of tour.
They tailor the tour to suit us, so I have booked this tour with an itinerary of:
West Bay Beach
Monkeys/Parrots ($5.00 entry fee pp)
Zip-lining for those interested ($45.00 pp)
Photo ops/sightseeing (worked in)
Half Moon Bay where we will have lunch (Dutch treat)-snorkeling & shopping available
Back to the Pier
I have tried to design this tour keeping everyone's preferences in mind. The Zip-Line ($45.00 pp includes the monkeys) can be done while the rest of us visit with the monkeys. I expect to spend a couple of hours at each beach, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Both of the beaches have snorkeling, Half Moon Bay has shopping, and there are restaurants available as well. Victor says for a group of this size, Half Moon Bay has the best restaurants. We can make a stop at the Cameo Factory if there's time, and there is shopping at the pier as well. They just completed their new pier complex, Mahogany Bay Cruise Center, in October, and I am hearing excellent things about it. But, because it belongs to Carnival Corp., they do not allow Independant Tour guides onto their property. Which means we have to depart the complex and walk uphill on an unpaved street to meet the tour guides. So far, everyone seems more than willing to do so. Victor is working on getting permission to meet his tours closer, but no news as of 1/7/10.
And, as of today, we have over 100 signed up. We have 2 30 passenger busses reserved and several vans. WHOO HOO!
