About the event: Experience Colorful Granada
The city of Granada, located on the shores of Lake Nicaragua, stands as the American
Continent’s greatest living museum.
Founded in 1524 by Conquistador Hernandez de Cordoba, Granada flourishes as Nicaragua’s main colonial city, as well as one of the most important in the world. Its Spanish churches and convents have lived through centuries, wars, invasions and time’s erosive hands. Yet, the city still preserves its beauty and historic legacy.
Granada is a thriving port and community set amidst an astonishing landscape of volcanoes and lakes. It offers a veritable trip back in time with its colonial structures and folkloric heritage.
Upon arrival in the city, you will have the opportunity to admire the ornate cathedral, the Culture House, and many of the colonial houses that make Granada, the Central America’s new hotspot. You’ll also visit the San Francisco Convent which holds the largest collection of stone sculptures from the early Americans living in the area before the Spaniards At the square by the Central Park, there is an area where local artisans and vendors offer their products.
