Event: Gift Exchange (Optional)

Meet: Le Bistro Restaurant - Deck 6 - November 5, 2010 -- 11:30 a.m. - Sea Day

Organized by: Sonia with Fritz/Peacham (habubabu)

About the event: GIFT EXCHANGE GUIDELINES
• Each participant brings a wrapped gift with a value of no more than $15.
• Gifts should be non-perishable and reflect the region (city, state, country) you come from. E.g., Sonia comes from Southern California – she could bring Disneyland related stuff. E.g., Fritz comes from Silicon Valley – he could bring computer related items!
• Items with a cruise line logo are banned!
• Bring one gift, get one gift; couples can choose to bring one gift or two
• The order of choosing is determined by drawing numbers from a hat.
• The first participant unwraps a gift from the pile and then shows it to everyone.
• The next player can either "steal" an already opened gift or be adventurous and go for a wrapped gift from the pile.
• If the participant chooses to steal an unwrapped gift, the person whose gift is stolen now repeats his turn and either steals another person's gift (he cannot immediately steal back the gift that was just stolen from him) or unwraps a new gift.
• This cycle of stealing can sometimes continue for a long time, until a new gift is chosen, at which point the turn is passed to the next participant.
• A gift that has been stolen three times is "dead" and cannot be stolen again.
• After the last gift has been unwrapped, participant #1 has an opportunity to steal once more, putting their gift back in the pile. This can cause one last cycle of stealing.
• Gift swapping between consenting adults can occur at any time.
